Last Sunday marked the beginning of a new season of ministry and fellowship here at First Baptist Church! Students in our children and youth ministry programs met with their new Sunday School classes for the first time. The youth group kicked off another year with s’mores around a bonfire while adults and families gathered for an old-fashioned hymn-sing and ice cream social.
There will be many chances to learn and grow together here at FBC over the next few months. Come learn from the Burmese Community Center for Education (BCCE) about the culture, history, and even the language of our Karen neighbors! Come as we experience how to understand and share our own spiritual stories in powerful ways at a workshop taught by Christian Theological Seminary professor (and FBC member!) Rev. Dr. Suzanne Coyle. Come connect with the community at FBC through Dine with Nine or at our upcoming Global Connections event. Join a Bible study or discussion group. Check out a Sunday School class. Don’t miss out on these opportunities or many more!
As we look forward to an exciting season of ministry here at FBC, we are extremely grateful to all those who serve: the many volunteers and staff who plan, organize and teach. We are able to provide these opportunities only because of the generosity of so many who have chosen to share their gifts among our community of faith. To all of you, we say sincerely: Thank you.
There is always space for one or two more! I do hope that you and your family will find the right place to connect, learn and grow with us here at First Baptist Church this fall.
More details about all upcoming opportunities will be available
on the website and in the FBC publications. Don’t forget to check back often!
