Will you be at the incredibly fantastic Spirit and Place Festival taking place… November 7-16?
This year the theme is JOURNEY and I look forward to exploring some of the people, places and ideas we take to journey from “here” to “there.”
On Saturday, November 8 from 7-9 pm I will drop by Light, Living, Laughter and Hope at Christian Theological Seminary and hear Rabbi Sandy Sasso and Quaker songwriter Carrie Newcomer host a special interfaith evening of stories and songs.
Later, on Sunday, November 16 from 4-5:30 pm I will hear journalist and world renowned author Gail Sheehy (remember her book Passages) address the journey that takes place in the later stages of life. She will be joined in a “public conversation” with New York Times bestselling author Mark Nepo and Timothy Quill a Rochester, New York physician specializing in palliative care.
You can also check out other journeys like…
• The Underground Railroad
• Veterans coping with varied war experiences
• Artists Becoming Theologians
• Musical Journeys of Immigrant Composers
• Celebrating with the Burmese of Central Indiana
• The Journey From Plant to Popcorn
• The Journey From Home from Prison
• And many more.
I get to serve on the Board of Directors of Spirit and Place that helps bring people and organizations together to build bridges, open minds, touch hearts, inspire reflection and help our community move forward in new ways. I love being around the people who make this great event happen.
