Fruit of the Spirit

fruitDo you ever wonder if you are making any progress in the life of faith?

Is there any measure by which you can chart growth?

In Galatians 5:22-23a, we read

“..the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

To the degree these worship schedulepractices and attitudes are present to help build up a community of faith we can see the evidence of God’s Spirit. Conversely, to the degree they are absent we know we have room to grow.

“The Fruit of the Spirit” will be our July-August worship theme. Each Sunday, we will explore one of these expressions of God’s Spirit in our midst. Each Sunday, we will be welcomed by someone sharing an experience with love or joy or peace or one of these other virtues. Summer gardeners will share lessons during our Children’s Moments. And our Children’s Sunday School will also be focused on the same week by week topic.

It’s going to be a fruitful (and productive) summer!

See you Sunday.

Frederick Lewis, Senior Minister
