Senior Minister

Rev. Evan Bever joined the FBC ministerial staff as Associate Minister in July, 2012 and became Senior Minister October 1, 2018.  A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and Purdue University, Evan was ordained by First Baptist Church in 2013. Evan has responsibilities in worship leadership, pastoral care, outreach, and Christian Education for children, youth and adults. Evan serves on the Board of Directors for the Baptist Student Foundation at Purdue (a campus ministry of the American Baptist Churches USA) and the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana.

Evan and his wife, Breanna, live here in Washington Township with their son, Isaiah.


Minister of Music


Mark Gilgallon’s faith journey began early in a devout Irish Catholic home and has taken him through several Christian traditions, including Episcopal and Methodist congregations. Prior to joining First Baptist Church, he served for 22 years as Music Director at North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Along each step of his journey, Mark has experienced God’s presence in the richness and diversity of the Church, a perspective that continues to shape his approach to worship and ministry.


In addition to his work as a church musician, Mark is a studio musician, recording extensively
for leading music publishers and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Voice at the University of
Indianapolis.

Visitation Minister

Rev. George Boyd Kimsey has served in active Christian ministry for over 55 years.  His background includes Youth Director, Minister of Christian Education, Minister of Visitation and Pastor.  He and Joyce, his wife of over 50 years, have served in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.

Rev. Kimsey and his wife have four grown children: Dawn, Julie, Margean, and David as well as six grandchildren.
